Ros Gasson is a musician and events organiser, and also occasionally builds websites.
Ros is a fiddle teacher in Edinburgh. Ros is a regular tutor at Fun Fiddle in Portobello, and also founded the Bealach Fiddle Retreats and String Circle Fiddle Workshops.
Ros teaches Scottish traditional music by ear. Having learnt as an adult, she has an insight into some of the difficulties and challenges that players might be facing when learning to play the fiddle later in life. She’s developed different approaches to help adult learners get around some of the issues they’re faced with in the early years of starting to play the fiddle.

Ros loves bringing people together to enjoy music. She has recently collaborated with Alison Burns to set up The Lightkeepers, which will bring together 100 people over a weekend to create a temporary choir and orchestra. These weekends will be repeated in different venues around Scotland
Ros is a founder member of the Edinburgh-based Da Hooley ceilidh band, which has been playing at events around the world for 25 years
