Tom Kane

Tom Kane

Tom is from Glasgow and has a great interest in the traditional music of
Britain within a social context.

He plays a wide variety of instruments including acoustic guitar,
mandolin, fiddle and harmonica. However, Tom’s main role is as a
traditional singer, with a splash of Americana thrown in.

Over the years Tom has been involved in a variety of musical endeavors
including solo performance, singing with the a cappella trio Tanteerie
now for 8 years, and as part of the Scottish traditional music choir SangstreamĀ  for 20 years, and as a long-time member of the Scots Music Group.

Currently Tom continues to perform on the solo front, as well as playing
in the song & instrumental duo The Earl of Ormidale
with Jane Jackson , Harp & Guitar duo with Enid Forsyth, and fiddle in the Ceilidhcaleerie ceilidh band.

Additionally Tom has worked on various spoken word & music
performance projects with the storytellers Dan Serridge and James
Spence including the The Two Truths of Thomas the Rhymer, and the
GaelGals productions of Raise their Voices: Women in World War I.

Tom is a founding member of Off The Wing with Martine Robertson and
Enid Forsyth, appearing on the Scottish book and small festival circuit
throughout 2019 including; Wigtown Book Festival and The 3 Harbours
Festival in East Lothian. He is currently working with OTW on their next production.
